A Way to Reduce Flow Induced Vibration of Piping

Introduction
Flow induced vibration of piping system is difficult to eliminate by conventional piping supports which are snubber, restraint, etc, because the amplitude of flow induced vibration is small and the piping supports, which have small gap in its connecting part or itself, may allow piping motion in the gap. The amplitude of the vibration is small, but we should not be careless for the vibration. Flow induced vibration of piping may occur high cycle fatigue failure of piping or unusual noise.
We developed two kinds of damper for suppressing the small amplitude vibration of piping system and equipment. Both are effective to suppress the vibration whose amplitude is smaller than 1 mm.
